Sweet Spot

Thursday, July 10th, 2014

After a recent visit to an ice cream shop, we pointed out to our daughter that she had chocolate on her knee. Thinking it was just one of her freckles, she explained, “That’s not chocolate. Those are my polka dots.”

The Healing Powers of Chocolate

Tuesday, April 15th, 2014

My daughter had a rash from poison ivy all over her left arm. She’d never tasted chocolate before, so I gave her a piece and told her it would make the boo-boo better. She thought for a bit and then proceeded to rub it all over her arm.

Thursday, January 16th, 2014

My daughter walked into the living room with her face covered in chocolate. She looked at my husband and I and said, “Don’t ask me if I ate something I’m not supposed to.”

Potty Training Incentives

Thursday, October 31st, 2013

We started potty training Oliver just a few weeks before our annual summer party. As some of the adults were chatting, my girlfriend asked if we had any M&M’s in the house. Oliver, who was playing nearby, waved a finger and told her very sternly, “First you go poop, THEN you get an M&M!”
