Beach Blues

Tuesday, August 19th, 2014

We were at the beach when my son started complaining about burning under his swimsuit. With tears in his eyes, he yelled, “It feels like a Megaladon swam up my pinkle.”

Beautiful View

Tuesday, May 27th, 2014

I was telling my son about the trip his father and I went on before he was born. I mentioned that the ocean had the clearest water I had ever seen. My son responded, “Clearer than the toilet?”  I really need to get my child to the beach!

Construction Sights

Monday, April 28th, 2014

My son was admiring the construction along the interstate, particularly the huge piles of dirt. I asked him, “What do you think the workers will do with all that dirt?” He confidently answered, “Sand castles!”

Sweet Sounds

Monday, April 14th, 2014

My daughter was given a beautiful conch shell. Instead of hearing the ocean when she put it up to her ear, she said, “It sounds just like my day care’s toilet.”

Mud Pie Mix-Up

Monday, June 10th, 2013

girl sticking out tongueOn a family trip to Hawaii, my daughter was excited to hear that a restaurant we were eating at served mud pie. She had never tried the dessert before, but had enjoyed making some of her own on the beaches nearby. When she took her first bite of the slice we ordered, she exclaimed in disgust, “This does not taste like mud at all!” and did not eat another bite.
