Thursday, October 17th, 2013

boy covering earsAfter looking forward to the birth of his new baby brother, my son was very upset when he realized how loud the baby was. When he was trying to watch his favorite cartoon but not able to hear it over his brother’s screams, Cody asked, “Can we put the baby back in your belly? He was quieter there!”

Wednesday, October 16th, 2013

women's restroom signWhen we were at the mall, my daughter asked about the “special” trash cans in the stall of the women’s restroom. I explained that they were for disposing of sanitary napkins. Later, while opening a hand sanitizing wipe before lunch at the food court, she asked, “Is this a sanitary napkin?”

girl pintingMy husband was working with our daughter  on some basic spelling. He’d say a word, spell it for her, and then repeat the word. This went on and on as usual until he came to the word “up.” He said, “Up. ‘U-P.’ Up.” To which, Lyla very quickly replied, “No, Daddy. I pee down.”
