We Are Family
Play up the fact that the mama-to-be's family tree is growing by throwing a family tree themed shower complete with bright colors, mod tree accents and, of course, plenty of photos that will have everyone remembering way back when. This theme is perfect for a family shower, where most of the guests are family (or as close as family, anyway).

Invitations
These simple flat cards decorated with an abstract tree design can be customized by hand or by using your home printer. The best part is, since they don't scream "baby shower," you can use any extras as thank-you notes or personal stationery.

Decor
Surround the guest of honor with happy family memories by selecting a few perfect pics and printing them up in black-and-white (or by making black-and-white copies on a photo copier). Display them in matching contemporary white frames -- to add some extra polish, mount the snapshots on decorative scrapbook paper in your color scheme before framing. Scatter your photos throughout the party; use them as table centerpieces or line several of them up in a row on the gift table or mantel.

Food
Create a DIY "wrap bar" where guests can create their own sandwich wraps. Include warm tortillas and fresh fillings like grilled chicken breast, roast beef, roasted veggies, cheese, a variety of greens, and a few different salad dressing options. To help the indecisive, include favorite family member combos on menu cards, like "Dad's Favorite Wrap: Chicken, Red Peppers, and Arugula." For a time-saving tip, pick up all the wrap fixings from your grocery store's gourmet salad bar.

Dessert
For dessert, serve guests a cherished family recipe. If you don't come from a clan of bakers, this orange pound cake topped with drizzled icing is a just-like-mom-would-make stand-in.

Gift Idea
An ultra-mod, ultra-functional clothes tree makes a fabulous themed gift for the nursery from the party hostesses -- and doubles as decor during the party. Decorate it with a few onesies on baby hangers for the party, and then send it home with Mom.
