NEW! 5,000 Boys' Reversible Vests Recalled Due to Choking Hazard

The Bon-Ton Department Stores Inc. recalled about 5,000 boys' reversible vests (sold at Bon-Ton, Bergner's, Boston Store, Elder-Beerman, Herberger's, Younkers, and Carson Pirie Scott stores nationwide and Parisian in the Detroit area from July 2008 through November 2008) because the zipper tabs on these vests fail to meet federal standards and pose a choking hazard to children. The recall involves "Ruff Hewn" reversible vests for boys sold in toddler (style #F821235) and 4 through 7 sizes (style #F841235). The vests are brown and reverse to a camouflage print. "Ruff Hewn" is printed on the tag found in the left pocket of the brown side and on the price tag. The style number is printed on the price tag. Munire 4-in-1 Cribs and Matching Furniture Recalled Due to High Lead Levels

Munire Furniture recalled about 3,000 cribs and 6,000 matching furniture pieces sold at specialty furniture stores nationwide from April 2006 through November 2008 for about $600 for the crib; the matching furniture pieces were sold for between $700 and $1,000. Additional accessories were sold for about $170. The red paint underneath the black finish paint on some of the cribs and matching furniture exceeds federal lead limits. The furniture is wood with a rubbed black finish; only the "Newport Rubbed Black" cribs and matching furniture manufactured in Indonesia between April 2006 and November 2008 are included in this recall. The model number, date, and country of manufacture are printed on the label attached to the side panel of the crib and the date of manufacture is on the back panel of the furniture.

Calypso Toy Steel Drums Recalled Due to High Lead Levels

Woodstock Percussion recalled about 2,800 toy steel drum sets (sold through mail order catalogs, Web sites, and retail stores nationwide from December 2006 through December 2007 for between $50 and $100) because surface paint on the recalled toy drums contains excessive levels of lead. The drum pan is painted black with silver markings to show the location of notes. Each rim is stamped with a #5 or #6, but not all drums stamped with a #5 are affected by this recall. The drum comes with two wooden drum sticks and a wooden stand. Immediately take the recalled steel drum away from children and return it to Woodstock Percussion for a replacement drum and a $5 credit or payment. Foursquare Hooded Jackets Recalled Because of Drawstring Hazard

Foursquare Outerwear recalled about 1,300 children's hooded jackets (sold at snowboard, ski, and sportswear stores nationwide from June 2008 through November 2008 for about $125) because they have a drawstring through hood, which poses a strangulation hazard to children. The jackets come in boys' and girls' sizes XS, S, M, L, and XL, and in various colors and patterns. They have a logo showing four adjacent, vertically offset squares on the sleeve, waist, breast, and/or back of the jacket, depending on the specific model. 95,000 Evenflo Majestic High Chairs Recalled Due to Choking and Fall Hazards

Evenflo recalled about 95,000 Majestic high chairs (sold at juvenile product and mass merchandise stores nationwide, including Toys "R" Us, Babies "R" Us, Burlington Coat Factory, and Shopko, and online at Walmart.com from January 2006 through May 2007) because plastic caps and metal screws on both sides of the high chair can loosen and fall out, causing both choking and fall hazards (including broken bones, cuts, and bruises) to children. The recall involves Evenflo Majestic high chairs made before January 23, 2007. The recalled high chairs have the following model numbers: 3001395A, 3001583, 3001633A, 3001669, 3001700A, 3001713, 3001713A, 3001730A, 3001732, 3001732A, 3001733, 3001742, 3001742A, and 3001756. The model number and production date can be found on a white label on the seatback. "Evenflo" is printed on the label and on the push button on the front of the tray. Britax Frontier Car Seats Recalled Due to Injury Risk

Britax recalled an undisclosed number of Frontier car seats (manufactured from April 1, 2008, through September 14, 2008, and sold at mass merchandisers and independent juvenile retailers) because the harness straps can detach from the car seat, which could cause an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash. This recall involves Britax Frontier that have the following model numbers and model names: E9L54E7 (Red Rock), E9L54H6 (Rushmore), E9L54H7 (Pink Sky), and E9L54M6 (Canyon). Model E9L5490 (Sahara) was also recalled and was manufactured from April 1, 2008, to September 17, 2008. The date of manufacture and model number may be found on the white label located near the top of the car seat on the child's left side under the cover. Immediately check to make sure the harness system is properly attached to the metal yoke. If so, you may continue to safely use the car seat until you receive a repair kit from Britax. 1,600 Phil & Teds Dash Buggy Strollers Recalled Due to Fall Hazard

Regal Lager has recalled about 1,600 Phil & Teds Dash Buggy strollers (sold at various independent juvenile specialty stores and online from July 2008 through September 2008) after discovering that the frame handle could fail to latch properly and break, posing a fall hazard to small children. The recall involves Phil & Teds Dash Buggy strollers with article #7-1080005 (red) and article #7-10080005 (black). The strollers have a metal frame with three wheels, a cloth seat, and a canopy. The Phil & Teds logo is located on the crotch piece of the harness. The article number can be found on the safety strap hanging from the handle. 480 Toy Dinosaurs Recalled Due to Lead Hazard

Xtreme Toy Zone has recalled about 480 toy dinosaurs (sold at Xtreme Toy Zone's Web site from May 2008 through October 2008) after discovering that the surface paint on the toys can contain excessive levels of lead. The recall involves "Dinosaur Epoch" toy dinosaurs that are battery-operated and can move and make sounds. The recall includes the orange-colored "Dinosaur Brachiosaurus" (model #1033) and the green, yellow, and orange-colored "Dinosaur Carnotaurus" (model #1030). The model number can be located on the toy's battery cover. Immediately take the recalled toys away from children and contact Xtreme Toy Zone for a refund or exchange. 12,800 Children's Jewelry Pieces Recalled Due to Lead Hazard

Aloha 808 Trading has recalled about 12,800 pieces of children's jewelry (sold at small retail stores and kiosks in Honolulu, Hawaii, from April 2008 through November 2008) after discovering that the jewelry contains excessive levels of lead. The recall involves eight styles of silver-colored metal jewelry: a flower earring, a three-flower pendant, a necklace with red flower and a metal leaf pendant, and a miniature sandal in aqua, purple, green, orange, and turquoise. 44,000 Graco ComfortSport Car Seats Recalled Due to Improper Labeling

Graco has recalled about 44,000 Graco convertible car seats (sold at mass merchandisers, specialty retailers, and department stores ) after discovering that the supplemental pillow on the seat could partially obscure the child airbag warning label, which is located on the seat pad. The recall involves Graco ComfortSport convertible car seats made in the Frazier fashion manufactured from November 1, 2006, through October 8, 2007. The car seats have model numbers 8C04FRR and 8C04FRR2. The model number and date of manufacture can be found on a label on the lower back of the car seat. 24,000 Newborn and Infant Pants from JCPenney Recalled Due to Choking Hazard

JCPenney has recalled about 24,000 newborn and infant pants (sold at JCPenney stores nationwide and at www.jcp.com from July 2008 through October 2008) after discovering that the metal snap at the waist can detach and pose a choking hazard to infants. The recall involves Arizona brand newborn and infant girls' and boys' denim pants. They were sold in sizes 0-3 months, 3-6 months, and 6-9 months. Only those pants made in Bangladesh are affected; pants made in China are not included in the recall. The country of origin is located on a label sewn into the waistband. Immediately stop using the recalled pants and return them to any JCPenney store for a full refund. 1,000 Hockey Helmets Recalled Due to Injury Risk

Reebok-CCM has recalled about 1,000 hockey helmets (sold at sporting goods stores nationwide and Internet retailers from May 2008 through July 2008) after discovering that the helmet's chinstrap can unexpectedly come undone. If this happens, the helmet can fall off, posing a head and neck injury risk to the user. The recall involves Reebok and CCM brand hockey helmets. Helmets included in this recall have a HECC sticker with date code JUN - 2013. HECC stickers and model numbers are located on the back of the helmets. 9,200 Doll Clothing Sets Recalled Due to Lead Hazard

Manhattan Group has recalled about 9,200 doll clothing sets (sold through mail order, Internet, and specialty gift stores nationwide from January 2008 through October 2008) after discovering that the paint on the pajama pants contains excessive levels of lead. The recall includes doll clothing sets that feature a two-piece pajama set, eye mask, and slippers. The pajama top is pink satin and the pants are dark brown with multiple-colored flowers printed on them. Immediately take the product away from young children and return it to the store where purchased for a full refund or store credit. 5,400 Army Action Figures Recalled Due to Lead Hazard

OKK Trading has recalled about 5,400 army action figures (sold through dollar stores and OKK Trading's Web site www.okktoys.com from June 2008 through September 2008) after discovering that the paint on the face of the figure contains excessive levels of lead. The recall includes 7-1/2-inch tall plastic toy army action figures that are dressed in army fatigues and have guns. 100 Mitten and Hat Sets Recalled Due to Choking Hazard

Meijer Inc. has recalled about 100 mitten and hat sets (sold at Meijer stores in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky from August 2008 to October 2008) after discovering that the magnets in the hat can detach and fall out, posing a choking and aspiration hazard to young children. The recall includes hats and mittens that have two magnets sewn into each side of the hat and are cotton with pink, lavender, orange, and aqua green stripes and various prints. Some of the hat and mittens have dark pink hearts with light pink stripes. "Aquarius LTD" is printed on the tag of the hat and mitten sets.
