It was hard to miss the big Mattel announcements this summer, but plenty of other defective or potentially toxic toys have also been pulled from store shelves this year. Plus, you never know what your kid might encounter at a friend's house or daycare, so it's always a good idea to review this list and forward it to friends and fam. (Should you spot a recalled toy, get rid of it immediately -- most manufacturers offer rebates if you contact them; or else just toss it.) Here, a look back at the biggest toy recalls of 2007. Make sure you check out each and every one.


Marvel Toys recalled about 175,000 Curious George plush dolls (sold from December 2005 through August 2007) because the paint on the plastic face and hat contained dangerous levels of lead.
