Cheap and Chic Nursery Picks

Think you've got to spend big bucks -- and shop at tony design stores -- to get a chic nursery? So did we -- until we checked out our local big-box retailer, Wal-Mart, and saw these gorgeous, mod buys from Wal-Mart. Our favorite part? Nothing here costs more than $300 (including the cribs).

Going Dotty

We love how the yellow, green, and brown design on this bedding works for a boy or a girl. The four-piece set includes a reversible comforter (stripes or circles), crib bumper, fitted sheet, and dust ruffle (not shown).

Sumersault Bubble Fun Four-Piece Crib Bedding Set, Green, $79.88, available at www.walmart.com

These bumper comments are so obnoxious. What newborn baby is able to roll around until they reach the bumper and therefore suffocate? Really by the time a baby starts rolling around this is not a danger anymore. When the baby feels uncomfortable they roll right back over. All of my kids have used them in the past few years and I have yet to wake up to any morbidity.

This item is no longer available and haven't been for months, I have contacted walmart with no luck. I hate that I seen it because that bedding set is so awesome.

if you want to be surprised about the sex of your baby than do it. My husband and I are having child #4 and have enjoyed the surprise every time-- especially the boy after 2 girls

I just read the article about "no bumpers" (my Dr. said the same thing), then here you go recommending crib sets with bumpers. Be consistent. Someone needs to tell the industry to quit making them!
