Two out of three children under the age of 3 experience at least one ear infection. Some babies simply have a higher-than-average risk of getting ear infections. These include children with Down syndrome, cleft palate, or allergies. Also, boys are more often affected than girls, and Caucasians and Native Americans are at higher risk than other ethnic groups. But there are still some things you can do to reduce the likelihood that your child will get (or continue to get) ear infections.

I guess some children are prone to ear infections than others. My daughter is now 7 months old and to date she hasn't had any ear infections.
