Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) is an over-the-counter fever reducer and pain reliever. This chart, based on your child's weight, can help determine the right dosage amount but is no substitute for your doctor's advice. You should always call the pediatrician with any questions or concerns. Use the following tips to keep your child safe and avoid overdosing:

Remember, use caution when first introducing your kid to chewables, which can be a choking hazard. Make sure they take their meds sitting up and chew them completely before getting up or running around. When introducing your kid to swallowable tablets, it's a good idea to practice first with small pieces of candy, like Tic Tacs or Nerds.

how much of the childrens ibuprofen if it say 100mg per 5ml when the baby weighs 17 lbs
3/17/2012 04:12:45 AM Report AbuseRelax!!!! The chart is fine, just the 160 should be 100. In the US everyone wants to sue everyone else!!! You could do some simple math and figure it out, but I sure that would get in the way of people's complaining time....Good Grief Charlie Brown...
1/30/2012 09:48:59 AM Report AbuseIt is a shame that a doctor posted that this information is incorrect nearly 9 months ago and it is still up. This information needs to be removed. It is one of the first results in a search for ibuprofin dosage and IT IS INCORRECT!! I would think that Parents would be worried about a lawsuit from displaying incorrect information if they are not worried about overdosing children.
12/27/2011 10:47:24 PM Report AbuseThis Chart is NOT CORRECT... Childrens Ibuprofen comes 100 mg per 5 ml NOT 160 mg per 5ml !! PLEASE CORRECT THIS!! I wish I would have known this before we gave my son the wrong amount...
10/5/2011 08:20:53 PM Report AbuseChildren's Ibuprofen comes 100mg per 5ml not 160mg (this is Tylenol's concentration) Please correct this. Thanks. Dr. Nielan
4/6/2010 11:48:10 AM Report AbuseYES THANK YOU! I don't understand why Tylenol and Motrin doesn't put these charts on the inside of the boxes???????
2/6/2010 09:33:58 PM Report AbuseThank you Parents.com for putting infant tylenol and ibuprofen dosing charts on the internet. I was having trouble finding it and it was on the weekend when I needed to give my infant daughter some tylenol.
