Why We Love It: Those little chompers coming in cause big-time discomfort (trust us), so a teething toy is a must-have. Do as the French do: Sophie La Giraffe has been all the rage in France ever since its debut in 1961, with its soft, flexible parts to gnaw on (and since she's handmade in the French Alps with nontoxic paint and natural rubber, baby can chew away). Sophie's dark, contrasting spots make her alluring to infants, who see contrast best.
What Real Moms Say: "I think she's adorable and has a sweet old-timey look to her," says Amy from Richmond, Virginia. "My son loved to hold her by her long neck and give her a squeeze."
Where to Buy: Sophie La Giraffe costs $20. To order online, visit:

Cant live without list huh? lol just watch me...guesh!
7/19/2010 10:04:26 AM Report AbuseI agree that it's expensive but it's made out of all natural products and I prefer that when it comes to a teething toy. My daughter is 23 months now and while she doesn't play with Sophie nearly as much anymore, when she was teething she LOVED this giraffe.
7/16/2010 07:06:44 PM Report AbuseI agree with the above mom, BUT I do have this toy...I got it cheaper on amazon.. and my son loves it!! It squeaks and is soft enough to chew on..this giraffe comes everywhere with us! Love it!
7/16/2010 10:38:42 AM Report AbuseUnrealistic list. Just a marketing ploy & brand name gimmicks. I'm a mom w/1 on the way. I NEVER NEEDED these products. Babies need practical items-diapers, wipes, bibs. Splurging on these items is wasted $. A pillow is as good as a Boppy. No baby needs a $20 chew toy. Receiving blankets work like swaddle blankets if you wrap the baby correctly. Don't get caught up in the hype. Not worth it. We all want to give our kids the moon, but dont need to break your budget w/ unnecessary items.
