Soy in baby's diet, as seen on the American Baby TV Show.

Soy is a healthy form of protein that can reduce the risks of breast, colon, and prostate cancer, lower cholesterol, and prevent osteoporosis and other chronic diseases, reports the Food and Drug Administration. Despite the fact that cow's milk is a more complete source of nutrients for babies than soy milk, soy can still be a beneficial element of your baby's nutrition. Here are two recipes that can get soy into your baby's diet even before he starts on solids.

Banana/Mango Smoothie

Ingredients: 1 mango 1 ripe organic banana 1/3 container silken tofu

Directions: Peel and slice the mango and the banana. Add the silken tofu. Mix in a food processor until the consistency is smooth and creamy.

Fruit, Veggie, and Tofu Blend

Ingredients: 1/4 cup carrots 1/4 cup apples 1/4 cup beets 1/4 cup carrots 1/4 cup apple juice 1/4 cup apple sauce 1/3 container silken tofu

Directions: Steam carrots, apples, and beets until soft (approximately 10 minutes). Add apple juice, apple sauce, and silken tofu. Mix in a food processor until the consistency is smooth and creamy.
