A Muslim name often associated with the Prophet Muhammad's daughter, Fatima Zahra, or given in honor of "Our Lady Fatima," the title bestowed on the Blessed Virgin Mary by the Roman Catholics. The name first appeared on the chart in 1973 and peaked in 2001. A town in Portugal and essential Christian pilgrimage center also bears the name, along with "Fatima The Gracious," a book by Shi'a scholar Abu Muhammad Ordoni about Fatima Zahra. More recently, "Fatima Blush" is a fictional character from the unofficial 1983 James Bond film, "Never Say Never Again" that may have influenced the name.
