April
The month of the year as a given name, often symbolizing spring originally derived from the Latin word, aperire, referring to the opening of flowers during that month. Also the name of one of the most light-hearted days of the year referred to as "April Fool's Day." It appeared on the chart in 1939 and climbed among the top 100 by 1967 and peaked in 1979 after the popularity had waned for similar seasonal names such as May and June. Influenced by Canadian rock singer and musician Avril Lavigne, ranked as the seventh most powerful Canadian in Hollywood in 2006, who uses a form of the name.
