Influenced during the 19th century by British explorer Sir Henry Morton Stanley, sent to Africa to provide aid to Scottish missionary and explorer, David Livingstone. After finding his hero, he famously said, "Dr Livingstone, I presume? "Hip-hop artist MC Hammer, born Stanley Kirk Burrell, has a son named after him.
