Funny Families

It's no joke that one of these comedians recently welcomed a new child into their family.

In the July 2006 issue of American Baby magazine, we asked readers which of these funny folks most recently had a baby: Tina Fey, Adam Sandler, Jimmy Fallon, or Margaret Cho.

Big Daddy

If you thought Tina Fey, then the joke's on you. While Fey had a baby in September 2005, Adam Sandler welcomed a daughter, Sadie, in early May 2006. Sandler, known for his work on Saturday Night Live, or SNL, as a writer and comedian from 1990 to 1995, married model Jackie Titone in 2003. He has been involved in many films and projects since he left television to pursue a movie career. He is not only an actor and writer, but also a producer. He owns his own production company, Happy Madison, named after two of his early films, Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore. His movie The Wedding Singer became a Broadway production in New York City in mid-April, 2006

News Update!

Tina Fey, born Elizabeth Stamatina Fey, and her husband, Jeff Richmond, a composer on SNL, welcomed Alice Zenobia Richmond on September 10, 2005. Also known for her work on SNL, Fey began writing there in 1997 and became the first female head writer in 1999. In 2001 she won a Writers Guild of America Award for her work on the 25th Anniversary special; in 2002 she and her fellow SNL writers won an Emmy. She joined the cast as a comedian and is co-anchor of the Weekly Update with Amy Poehler. Fey wrote the script and co-starred in the 2004 movie Mean Girls with other former and current SNL cast-mates, and can be seen in the fall of 2006 in a new TV show, 30 Rock.

Not Yet a Father

Jimmy Fallon, born James Thomas Fallon, an actor and musician also famous for his work on SNL from 2000 to 2004, does not have any children. In 2003 his comedy album, The Bathroom Wall, was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Spoken Comedy Album category. He also released a children's book in 2005, Snowball Fight. He is currently pursuing a film acting career.

Funny Fashion-ista

Margaret Cho, born Moran Cho, a comedian, fashion designer, and actress known for her stand-up routines, does not have children. Cho won the American Comedy Award for Best Female Comedian in 1994, and has appeared in successful one-woman shows, including I'm the One That I Want. In 2002, she and a friend started the now-defunct clothing line High Class Cho. In 2006 she resurfaced in the fashion world with a line of belly dancing belts called Hip Wear. She lives with her three dogs and her husband, Al Ridenour, an artist.
