A pet form of Julie that's best-known for William Shakespeare's star-crossed heroine in the 16th century tragedy, "Romeo and Juliet," adapted into several films most recently in 1996 with Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio in the titles roles. Associated today with French actress Juliette Binoche and actress and musician Juliette Lewis who use the French form of the name.
