Desiree
Traced back to the Puritans who used Desire as a given name. It debuted on the popularity chart in 1954 influenced by the release of the film, "Desiree," starring Jean Simmons and Marlon Brando and based on the best-selling novel by Annemarie Selinko. Also associated with the 1977 song by Neil Diamond. More recently used as the name of a fictional villain from Nickelodeon's animated television series, "Danny Phantom," that first aired in 2004. The most famous bearer of the name was Lucille Desiree Ball, a four time Emmy Award-winning actress and charter member of the Television Hall of Fame.
