Axel

Scandinavian form of Absalom. It's rise in popularity began with Axel Munthe, a 20th century Swedish physician and psychiatrist, who wrote an autobiography called, "The Story of San Michele." Axl Rose, the lead singer of the rock group, "Guns N' Roses," uses a variation of the name.
