A form of Avraham whose known as the biblical husband of Sarahi, and the father of Isaac and Ishmael originally called Abram. He is considered to be one of the first prophets of Islam and the first patriarch of the Jews. The name's popularity during the 1880s suggests it was greatly influenced by Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president, who issued the Emancipation Proclamation that abolished slavery.
