If you are "welcoming" a new baby into the world, you may have noticed that many Americans, whether or not they can trace their heritage back to the Emerald Isle, are choosing traditional Irish names for their new additions.

Celebrities are also on top of this cultural naming trend: Actress Jennie Garth recently named her daughter Fiona; actress Sharon Stone chose a similarly lucky Irish moniker, Quinn, for her adopted infant son. Actor Chris O'Donnell and Project Runway star Laura Bennett named their sons Finley, which is "magical" in Celtic, while actor and director Ed Burns named his son Finn, a variant on the name Finley.
