Baby Name Keepsake: Printing Hints

Already created your Baby Name Keepsake? Here are some hints on how to make a print-friendly version.

(If you haven't created a Keepsake yet, read on, and then click below for the easy fill-in form.)

If you're using Internet Explorer on a PC:

1. Under "File" select "Page Setup."

2. First, copy and save all text under the Header and Footer area so you can put it back in later.

3. Then, delete all text under the Header and Footer area.

4. Click "OK."

5. Hit "Print Page" button on Keepsake.

If you're using Internet Explorer on a Mac:

1. Under "File" select "Print."

2. Find the Internet Explorer preference in one of the drop-down menus.

3. Once you find the Internet Explorer preference, un-check the Headers and Footers box. Make sure you have the Printer Background and Images boxes checked.

4. Click "Print."

>>> For those who are more crafty than computer-savvy, we've come up with a few creative ways to make any "extra" text disappear from your Keepsake:

• Cut along the dotted line. Now you can either frame the Keepsake as is, glue or tape it into a baby book or scrapbook, or mount it on a pretty 8x10 inch piece of construction paper or colored cardboard.
• Stick 'em up. Buy baby-theme stickers and use them to make a border around the edges of Keepsake to hide any unwanted text.
• Color me pretty. Paint a border around the edges, or use thick glue and sprinkle liberally with glitter.
• You've been framed. Find a matte border, or cut your own (make sure the opening is big enough to fit your printout). Slip the Keepsake in, and center it.
