miaModa Viva Infant Car Seats Recalled

November 28, 2007
Car Seats
The Danger:
The lower anchor connector adjuster assembly may interfere with the connection of the car seat to the base. If all points are not firmly connected, the car seat could detach from the base during a crash, which could lead to serious injury.
Additionally, registration cards were not provided with the seats or separately sold bases, which fails to comply with federal standards.
The recall includes 820 miaModa Viva Infant Car Seat systems, model number 5000, manufactured between December 19, 2006, and January 23, 2007, and 170 car seat bases, model number 5001, manufactured between December 19, 2006, and February 6, 2007.
Model numbers can be found on the side of the car seat or in the center of the base on a white label.
Sold At:
Various retailers and Web sites from March 2007 to October 2007 for $100.
