Will a c-section affect my periods?
When will I get my period back after having a c-section?

Having a c-section has no affect on how quickly your period will return to normal. What will affect menstruation, however, is whether or not you breastfeed your baby. If you don't nurse, it will probably take about six to eight weeks for your period to come back after delivery. If you breastfeed, you may not get your period back until you wean your baby. Your period should return within six to eight weeks after you stop breastfeeding, though it can take a while for it to be totally regular again. If you think you should be menstruating and you're not, give your doctor a call.

It's important to remember that even if you're not menstruating regularly while you're breastfeeding, you could still ovulate and become pregnant. This is most often the case for moms of babies older than 6 months, who are eating solid foods and breastfeeding less frequently, or for babies who get a combination of breast milk and formula, because levels of breastfeeding hormones may not be high enough to suppress ovulation. So if another baby is not in your game plan right now, be sure to use a reliable method of birth control, like condoms.

2 years is perfect! My first 2 are 2.5 yrs apart & get along great. Also by 2 yrs, you're healed up from a c-section.

hi. Well one is considered high risk after the age of 35. I'm 36 with #4. I have 18, 16, & 8yr old daughter's. I am 17 weeks, not only do i feel great but can feel him kicking softly. I'm in great health and plan on having #5. 2yrs is usually the right time to have another. I think 9 months apart is really pushing you mentally, but that's just my opinion. my 2 oldest are 18 months apart. Good luck to all and best of wishes!
