How can I prevent postpartum depression after pregnancy?

After giving birth to a baby, I have experienced poor concentration, anxiety, fatigue, and sadness.  How do I prevent these common symptoms of baby blues?

The symptoms you describe may be related to postpartum blues or postpartum depression.  Women who experience either of these symptoms are at a higher risk of having them in a subsequent pregnancy or experiencing a major depressive episode later in life.  I strongly recommend that you get evaluated by your obstetrician; getting the proper diagnosis and treatment is very important.
