How do I get my child to stop dressing backwards?

I have a 3 year old son, third child out of four, that constantly dresses himself backwards. I have even stopped providing shirts for him that have pictures on them, just simple one color shirts and he wears them backwards. Shoes always one the wrong feet. Head to toe, backwards, even his undies. I was able to excuse the undies for awhile because he said he just liked to see the heros on the front. OK. But should I be worried? This is not just once and awhile, this is everyday. HELP!?!

Dear Carriecantu1:

I would not be worried about a three year old who dresses himself backwards. If everything he wears is always backwards, he must know it and get some sort of zing out of it--even if he can't really tell you why. I would let it go. The more you make a fuss over it, the more of an issue it will be.

Your inquiry suggests that everything else seems to be going in the right direction with this little guy. If this is the case, I'd relax about the backwards duds. He won't be wearing stuff backwards on Prom Night.
