My Daughter is the next Houdini! She has been walking since the day she turned 10 months old, then climbing on top our table at a year (cafe table, the tall ones with stools), and now we are struggling with keeping her in her car seat. I can buckle her in and by time I get to my seat and buckled, she is climbing in to the passenger seat beside me. I have her buckled properly as far as I can tell. But I have been struggling with this for months now. Any help would be appreciated!!?
That's a great trick for Houdini, not so good for a little kid. Obviously, since she's not quite at age at which reasoning is going to make the difference, you need a gadget. There's a product called Buckle Guard that, hopefully, will challenge Houdini to the point where the escape tricks will halt. It sells for about $16 to a set of two on Amazon.com. It works kind of like a lot of child-proofing tools by creating an access point that a kid can't figure or isn't strong enough to use. I've never seen one in use other than in photos, so please report back how it went if you decided to give it a try. Good luck.
