At what age should I allow my toddler to have a pillow on her bed?

She is very tall for her age and started crawling out of her crib so at 20 months old she started sleeping in a toddler bed. The few times she has slept in bed with me, she slept on and off my pillows. Just curious when it's okay to put one on her bed? She is 21 months old now.
