What can I do if my child has difficulty making it to the bathroom in time?

Q: We're potty training our son, and he hardly ever makes it to the potty on time. Any suggestions?

A: Put the potty wherever he is, even if that means leaving it in his bedroom while he plays, in the family room when he watches TV, or out in the backyard. Over time, you can gradually increase the distance he has to travel. --Donna Christiano
