Why is my toddler shoving me?

When I pick my 2 year old up from daycare, she sometimes lightly shoves me but doesn't appear to be angry or frustrated. Why does she do this?

Toddlers need our help in learning how to show affection appropriately. Perhaps your daughter is happy to see you, but isn't quite sure how to ask for a hug. When she pushes you, tell her you missed her, and ask if she'd like a hug. I bet she would!
