What happens if you lose your mucous plug 25 weeks into pregnancy?
The mucous plug is usually lost when a cervix begins to soften or dilate; however, many women who have already had a vaginal delivery can lose their mucous plug much earlier in a subsequent pregnancy. Any changes in pregnancy, such as losing your plug at 25 weeks, need to be communicated with your OB to allow him the chance to determine if further work up is necessary.
