Is it safe to take heart medication during my pregnancy?
“Most cardiac medications are okay in pregnancy,” says Stephanie Martin, D.O., medical director for labor and delivery and the obstetric intensive care unit at the Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women in Houston. Exceptions include ACE inhibitors and ACE receptor blockers, both used to manage high blood pressure, and the blood thinner Coumadin.
