Q: My legs are cramping very bad at night and I am having the hardest time sleeping. I do have a body pillow that I am using, and my doctor has me on calcium pills. Is there anything else that can be done to relieve my leg cramps?
A: Stretching your legs before you go to bed helps some women with terrible leg cramps. Also eating foods higher in potassium (bananas and kiwi fruits) or adding magnesium to your calcium supplents can also help cramping. Finally, making sure you are well hydrated with water is sometimes all you need.
