I'm afraid of the epidural!

What if you are super scared of needles but know you won't be able to do it with out an epidural? What do you recommend?

If your fear of needles is that great, you can seek the help of a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist who can perform a series of practices to help "desensitize" you from your fear. Otherwise, you can try to imagine yourself getting an epidural and practice relaxation techniques during the visualization process that may help you when the real time comes.

I am also afraid of it. I'm afraid of becoming paralyzed. My pain doc suggested one for my back problems and said the needle would be within centimeters of my spinal cord. I'm scared.
