What should I keep in our family's first-aid kit?
Submitted by American Baby Team

A. Having a well-stocked first-aid kit can be crucial in the event of an emergency. Prepare one for your home as well as for the car (so you have it handy during errands, at soccer games, even at friends' houses). Include the following items:

• Antibacterial ointment
• Hydrocortisone cream
• Alcohol wipes
• Bandages
• Gauze pads and roller gauze
• Adhesive tape
• Hand sanitizer
• Ice pack
• Scissors
• Tweezers
• Thermometer
• Acetaminophen and ibuprofen
• Antihistamine
• Peroxide
• Itch relief cream
• Activated charcoal (use only with direction from poison control)
• Aloe vera gel
• Emergency phone numbers
