Jane Morton, MD, Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Stanford University and Fellow of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, was formerly the Director of the Stanford Breastfeeding Medicine Program, an executive board member of the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Section on Breastfeeding. While she is internationally recognized for her expertise and original research in breastfeeding, and her academic involvement at Stanford, her career has primarily involved caring for children of all ages. She practiced for 20 years at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation and then founded an exclusively pediatric retainer practice in Menlo Park, California (Burgess Pediatrics, www.burgesspediatrics.com) Respecting the diversity of traditions, beliefs and styles of parenting, her focus is on helping children grow into healthy, secure young adults and on supporting the family as a whole.
