Britt Kurent is a chef and a caterer with a special passion for food -- and for passing this passion on to others. "My love of cooking began when my mom gave me my first children's cookbook. That real red measuring spoon that popped out of a cardboard page was all I needed to get hooked!"
Britt grew up in Washington, DC and graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in communications. After moving from Los Angeles to New York City to attend the Institute of Culinary Education and working in one of the best restaurants in the country (Grammercy Tavern in NYC) it was time for Britt to break out on her own. Today she lives in New York where she runs Kurent Events, a boutique catering company that she founded in 2009. In Britt's eyes, no event is too big or too small. Kurent Events caters for Fortune 500 companies one day and makes house calls to teach folks to cook the next. From backyard barbecues and birthdays to corporate events and weddings, Britt Kurent does it all.
