Should a newborn be covered up with a blanket in their crib?
Please let me know what is safe.
No. A newborn's crib should be bare. There should never be blankets in the sleep environment. Blankets can bunch up and pose a suffocation danger to newborns.

No loose blankets, according to current safety guidelines, but I believe that swaddling a newborn with a blanket is allowed. They certainly do it in hospitals.
